Giving Backcb{d} Sponsors Event to Benefit ICTrees

July 20, 2017

Cassandra Bryan Design sponsored the Green Portrait Day on July 14 to benefit ICTrees, a local non-profit organization dedicated to improving the Wichita and Sedgwick County area by planting a wide variety of sturdy, long-living trees in parks, along streets, at schools and on other public and private properties.

Participants were encouraged to make a $10 donation to ICTrees and following the event, received a digital copy of their portrait by prominent Wichita photographer, Kacy Meinecke, who hosted the event at her studio. Participants also received ICTrees branded sunglasses and stickers.

“The event was so much fun for our staff and the participants,” said Cassandra. “We raised a lot of money for ICTrees, but more importantly, we raised a lot of awareness for their mission.”

Participants ranged from beautiful mommies with their adorable kiddos and those looking for a fun headshot to community leaders and professionals from area companies. Companies represented included, but were not limited to: Apples & Arrows, Beards Floral Design, Clutch Studio, FNL Denim, J. Andrew, Jajo, Koch Industries, Lifeboat Creative, Nelson Designs, Rivercross Hospice and Songbird Juice Co.

Prior to the event, cb{d} provided creative services, including: event planning, content and design for print materials (handout, poster), social media content and digital graphics, an event press release and design for promotional items (sunglasses and stickers).

In addition to Cassandra, five cb{d} staff members helped out the day of the event, and the ICTrees founder, Barney Barnhard, was on hand to meet participants and answer questions.

“We are always looking for community leaders and volunteers who would like to get involved,” said Barney. “Events like the Green Portrait Day raise awareness for our mission and attract individuals who are also passionate about increasing the positive effects of trees, like cleaner air and water as well as reduced energy costs.”

Since its inception, ICTrees has planted more than 1,500 trees in and around Wichita. More than 800 volunteers have been involved, donating more than 2,000 hours. For additional information about ICTrees and to get involved, please visit
