When it comes to logo design, there are pretty much two types of needs: a logo for a new business or a redesigned logo from an existing brand.
Redesigning logos is something we have had the opportunity to do a lot of lately and we have learned that redesigning a logo ultimately comes down to balance. You have to be able to incorporate elements of the previous logo that make that company unique and combine those with modern, new styles that will “refresh” the logo while keeping the brand recognizable.
Occasionally, though, a company will want their logo to be completely different from the original and only want to keep the same colors. More than likely they are simply wanting to appeal to a different target audience.
