Giving Backcb{d} Sponsors Event to Benefit Clean Water Efforts

April 12, 2017

Cassandra Bryan Design sponsored the Aveda Catwalk for Water on April 10 to benefit clean water efforts. All the cb{d} ladies attended the event and Cassandra Bryan served as a guest judge. According to Aveda, Catwalk for Water is an annual green carpet event during which participating Aveda salons come together to raise money for Earth Month.

“Water is a vital resource, so it’s really important to support clean water efforts” said Cassandra. “By doing so, we are ensuring clean and safe water now and into the future.”

This year’s event was located at The Hudson, a new event venue not too far from cb{d} in downtown Wichita. Professionals from local Aveda salons and even students from local cosmetology schools showcased their creativity and technical skills in hair, makeup and fashion. Design teams used the earth as their muse, creating comprehensive looks that celebrated beauty, fashion and Aveda’s mission to care for the world we live in.

“Judging was a tough job” said Bryan. “I was so impressed with the creativity and amount of time and detail that went into all the looks.”

The event included an introduction by Aveda, runway show (the beautiful Kacy from Kacy Meineke Photography was one of the models!), silent auction and the presentation of runway winners. Event attendees from the local community enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and had the option of purchasing keepsake glasses designed and provided by cb{d} and our client, the Jonathan W. McConnell Law Firm.

“I have always been a huge fan of Aveda products, so I was very excited to attend the Catwalk for Water for the first time,” said Sarah Poinsett from cb{d}. “Watching the show was a blast and seeing the models showcase the creativity and hard work of the salons was inspiring. I especially enjoyed the school competition and I can’t wait to go again next year!”

All ticket proceeds from the event, as well as generous donations from the sponsors, went to the local Aveda EM partner, Audubon KS/MO, to continue clean water efforts and education.

“From planning the design of the keepsake glasses and preparing to judge the event to enjoying a night out with the ladies on my team, this was so much fun!” said Cassandra. “Better yet, all our efforts were for a wonderful cause, so we feel great knowing that we’ve helped the community.”
